Police Log: Unwanted Solicitors Harass Residents

The following information was supplied by the San Bruno Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday

10:48 a.m. Police responded to a report about a cash register at a bar on the 600 block of San Mateo Avenue that was found pried open. Change and paperwork were located on the floor.

1:10 p.m. Police received a call about an aggressive male solicitor dressed in all white who was asking people for donations on the 800 block of Cherry Avenue and refusing to leave.

5:56 p.m. Police received a call about a road rage incident on the 3300 block of Crestmor Drive in which a driver in a blue Celica was following a man and yelling profanities at him and waving his fists.

8:40 p.m. Police received a call from someone on the 400 block of Madison Avenue about a possible city code violation. Three people were going door to door soliciting for the Mercury News and asking for donations.

9:21 p.m. Police received a call from someone on the 2200 block of Whitman Way stating that a male subject was on the premises trying to sell something and was refusing to leave.

Friday

10:46 a.m. A man arrived at the police station stating that he had lost his Mexico identification card a few months ago.

7:01 p.m. Police received a call from someone reporting that a tree fell down and was partially blocking the roadway on the 1000 block of National Avenue near the freeway.

Saturday

9:08 a.m. Police received a call from someone about a possible city code violation in which a black Chevy Silverado had a motorcycle gas tank in its bed that was leaking onto the street on the 400 block of San Mateo Avenue.

8:50 p.m. Police were asked to get involved with a dispute between a landlord and tenant on the 700 block of San Anselmo Avenue South. The tenant claimed that she was renting a room but that the landlord had wanted to evict her without proper notification.

9:29 p.m. Police received a call about a driver chasing a male pedestrian near El Camino Real and San Bruno Avenue West.

Sunday

12:05 a.m. Someone reported to police that a bag was found with several credit cards and other documents in a trash can on the 1100 block of Cherry Avenue.

12:42 a.m. Police received a call about six people in a parking lot on the 100 block of El Camino Real watching a fist fight.

5:37 a.m. Police received a call about an auto burglary on the 100 block of San Benito Avenue after someone reported that a vehicle's speaker box had been stolen. The suspect allegedly fled the scene on a bike.
