Police Log: White Ford Vans Become Targets for Thieves

Monday

11:36 a.m. Someone attempted to steal a white Ford 350 van on the 2700 block of Fleetwood Drive. The driver side door lock and ignition were punched, but it is not clear if anything was taken from the van, police said.

3:06 p.m. Police responded to a report of embezzlement by an employee at a store on the 1100 block of El Camino Real. The employee allegedly stole $200 and was detained.

9:29 p.m. A maroon 1991 Acura Integra was stolen on the 1100 block of El Camino Real.

Tuesday

7:05 a.m. A driver ran into a tree and through a fence on the 900 block of Sneath Lane. The driver suffered minor injuries, police said.

12:51 p.m. A resident called police because a male was sending harassing messages on Facebook.

3:45 p.m. A resident on the 300 block of Amador Avenue reported to police that someone had been fraudulently using his Social Security number.

10:58 p.m. Police responded to a involving two Pacifica residents. One driver died and another was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with moderate injuries. Police are still investigating the accident.

Wednesday

7:02 a.m. A white Ford van with an ASF Electric logo was stolen overnight on the 3100 block of Sunset Road.

10:35 a.m. Police assisted with the , which had been blocked off since the Sept. 9, 2010, pipeline explosion.

12:47 p.m. The San Mateo County Coroner's Office was called to respond to a report of a dead person on the 300 block of Angus Avenue.

2:15 p.m. Police responded to a report of a residential burglary on the 1000 block of National Avenue. The burglary reportedly took place between 1 p.m. and 2:15 p.m., and cash and jewelry were stolen.

8:47 p.m. Police responded to a report of an attempted burglary at a restaurant on the 400 block of El Camino Real. The back gate of the restaurant had been taken off the hinges overnight, but it got been fixed.
