Police Urge Residents to Take Caution After Two Daytime Burglaries

The burglaries happened on the same day just blocks away from each other.

Police are warning residents to take stronger safety precautions at home after occurred last week. 

Both burglaries happened on the same day within minutes of each other and within blocks of each other, but police aren't saying whether the two break-ins are related. 

About 2:01 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary on the 3600 block of Timor Court. The resident told officers he was in the shower when he heard a loud noise. When he went to check on the noise, he stumbled upon a burglar trying to break in to his home through a second-story window.

The burglar and an accomplice, who was outside, then fled, police said. 

The suspects in that incident were both described as 30-year-old Latino men who were 5-foot-5. One suspect had black hair and was wearing jeans and a light-colored T-shirt. The other suspect was wearing shorts, police said.

Not too long after the burglary was reported on Timor Court, police received a call about another burglary that had occurred on the 3500 block of Bering Drive, just a couple of blocks away. 

Police are encouraging residents to keep doors and windows locked when they aren't in use and to be aware of suspicious people or activity in their neighborhoods.
