Residents Say 'Thank You' to First Responders, Volunteers at Tanforan Event

People created thank you cards Saturday for the first responders involved in handling the fire and to show support for those affected.

More than 100 people showed up to The Shops at Tanforan Saturday afternoon to design cards and posters for the firefighters, police officers, volunteers and families affected in Thursday's fire.

The event, called Dear San Bruno, was held in front of Old Navy, where art supplies were readily available for children and families who wanted to send a heartwarming "thank you" to the first responders and show support for the people whose homes were destroyed or damaged.

People in the mall stopped by to make a quick card and write kind words on posters, and to connect with friends to share hugs and stories.
