San Bruno Police Log, Dec. 16-19: Towel Bandit Robbing Gas Station, Auto Break-Ins, and Explosion Outside of 7-Eleven Store

A sampling of incidents reported to the San Bruno Police Department from Dec. 16-19.

Dec. 16

Sometime between midnight and 1:59am, a drunk driver was reported on the 200 block of Elm Avenue.

3:22am. Police received a call that a suspicious man with a flashlight was looking into vehicles on Sunset Drive near Ysabel Drive.

6:45am. Police received a report that the station was robbed by someone whose face was covered in a towel. The alleged robber stole an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

11:03am. Police received a report of a stolen truck on the 500 block of Easton Avenue. The owner said the keys were left in the vehicle.

5:48pm. Police received a call that someone had broken a change machine and one of the kiddie rides on the 1100 block of El Camino Real.

7:46pm. Police received a report of a car burglary on the 400 block of Huntington Avenue. The owner said the trunk of the car was found open and a tool set had been taken.

8:27pm. Police received a report of a van being broken into on the 500 block of Elm Avenue in which a stereo, TVs and an XBox were stolen from it.

10:28pm. A drunk driver was reported near El Camino Real and San Bruno Avenue West.

Dec. 17

8:03am. Police received a report of a car burglary in a parking lot on the 800 block of Commodore Drive.

8:10am. A stolen car was reported on the 100 block of Santa Lucia Avenue.

10:56am. A vehicle was broken into in the parking lot, and a backpack and cell phone were stolen from it.

2:23pm. Police received a call that someone had stolen several items from . However, police said, the suspected shoplifter dumped the items in a trash can near the store in the mall.

2:28pm. Someone reported that the two front tires on a car parked in a stall on the 1200 block of El Camino Real had been slashed.

2:44pm. Police received a report of a car being stolen from the Sneath Lane side of .

Dec. 18

9:10am. Someone reported that the tires on an SUV had been slashed on the 400 block of Poplar Avenue.

5:14pm. Police received a report that a home was broken into on Bayshore Circle. Among the items stolen were TVs, an iPod Touch and an XBox.

Dec. 19

5:16am. Police received a report of a home break-in at .

12:34pm. A car was broken into on Shelter Creek Lane near Whitman Way. The car's stereo was stolen, police said.

1:50pm. A car was broken into on the 1100 block of El Camino Real in which a laptop and computer accessories were taken.

1:57pm. A car was broken into on the 1200 block of El Camino Real in which a backpack and computer equipment were stolen.

4:01pm. Police received a call about an explosion outside of the store near San Bruno Avenue West.

7:26pm. Someone called police about an auto burglary on the 1100 block of El Camino Real. The vehicle appeared ransacked, police said.

Sometime between 8:56-10:03pm, a drunk driver was reported near San Mateo Avenue and Walnut Street.

10:18pm. Police received a report that someone's iPad had been stolen on the 800 block of Commodore Drive while a cleaning crew was at the person's home.
