San Bruno Police Log: Stolen Vehicle, Burglarized Cars and Pit Bulls on the Loose

1:18 a.m.: Police received a report of a possible drunk driver on Sneath.  The driver was sitting in their pickup truck which was facing south while stopped in the northbound lanes.

1:30 a.m.: A car was broken into in the 800 block of El Camino Real.  Entry was gained by smashing a window.

2:41 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Earl Avenue where a loud party with a band was disrupting the sleep of some neighbors.

4:02 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of El

Camino Real where a customer was unable to get service.  According to the customer, the lights were all on but no employees were visible.

10:00 a.m.: Officers were asked to check the line at the Hooters Restaurant on the 1100 block of El Camino Real.  The restaurant was hosting an anniversary event.

10:24 a.m.: A car was stolen from a business on the 600 block of El Camino Real.

11:48 a.m.:  A citizen requested officers make periodic checks of the 400 block of San Mateo Avenue.  The citizen said shen could smell pot smoke.

12:52 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of cherry Avenue where a dog was tied to a railing and possibly abandoned.

1:12 p.m.: A briefcase was stolen from a car parked in the 1200 block of El Camino Real.  The car was unlocked when the crime occurred.

3:06 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a bank in the 400 block of San Mateo Avenue where a customer was being disruptive.

3:37 p.m.: Police received a report of three loose pit bulls on Allen.

Approx. 5 p.m.: Officers recovered a stolen vehicle on the 500 block of Madison Avenue.

6:36 p.m.:  Officers received a report of a car on the 900 block of Bayhill Drive with a smashed window.  The called thought it looked suspicious.

8:40 p.m.: At the request of the San Francisco Police Department, San Bruno officers attempted to contact a San Bruno resident whose gun had been seized earlier in the day by SFPD officers.  The police were trying to ascertain whether the citizen knew where their gun was.

9:45 p.m.: Police received a report of two men trying to break into a blue Toyota Prius parked on the 1000 block of Cherry Avenue.

Editor’s Note:  Sometimes you might find items in the police log that seem humorous but please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
