A 70-year-old man who crashed into a parked car was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in South San Francisco on Wednesday night, police said.

At about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to the 700 block of Miller Avenue on a report of crash.

Officers arrived to find the driver, South San Francisco resident Thomas Velasquez, at the scene.

Velasquez admitted to police that he had been drinking alcoholic beverages while in San Francisco prior to driving and that he was responsible for hitting the parked car.

Officers examined Velasquez and determined that he was under the influence of alcohol, and arrested him, police said.
