Three Suspects Arrested In Robberies Near San Bruno's Commodore Park

By Bay City News Service:

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with three robberies in the area of Commodore Park in San Bruno last week, a police lieutenant said.

The victims in the three separate robberies on April 7 and 8 reported that one or two suspects approached them near Commodore Park and demanded personal property, including laptops, wallets and cellphones, San Bruno police Lt. Troy Fry said.

In two of the robberies on April 7, the victims were threatened with kitchen knives, according to Fry.

In the third robbery on April 8, two male suspects threatened the victim with a hammer, Fry said.

Victims offered police similar descriptions of the suspects in all three robberies, Fry said.

At about 10 p.m. on April 9, police conducting surveillance in the area of the park saw someone matching the description of one of the suspects. Police detained him and discovered the suspect was carrying a loaded firearm, Lt. Fry said.

The suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was booked into juvenile hall for carrying a loaded handgun and armed robbery, the lieutenant said.

A follow-up investigation led police to 18-year-old Daly City resident Alexander Leonis. He was arrested at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday in the area of King and Junipero Serra drives in Daly City, Fry said.

Leonis was booked into jail on suspicion of armed robbery, police said.
