Trial for Fatal Hit-and-Run Pushed Back to Fall

A judge granted a motion to continue the case for Mitnesh Reddy, accused of killing a woman in a hit-and-run crash in San Bruno. The trial was supposed to start this month.

The trial for a in San Bruno in 2011 has been delayed after a judge agreed to continue the case, the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office said.

Mitnesh Reddy, a San Bruno resident, is accused of vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence of alcohol and a felony hit-and-run after he reportedly crashed into 61-year-old Sondra Gentile's car as she was exiting Interstate Highway 380 on an early morning in 2011.

Reddy fled the scene after the accident, but he was arrested shortly afterward, police said.

The on Aug. 20. But Reddy's attorneys filed a motion to continue the case, and Superior Court Judge John Grandsaert approved the motion on Friday.

Grandsaert reset the trial for Reddy, who is out of custody on $250,000 bail, to start on Nov. 26.
