Two Drivers Arrested for Possessing Drugs in DUI Checkpoint

The goal of the checkpoint was to deter and arrest motorists that were driving under the influence, police said.

Police arrested two drivers for possession of drugs and cited one motorist for driving without a proper license during Thursday's DUI checkpoint, but didn't make any arrests for driving under the influence.

Officers screened 975 vehicles and gave five drivers sobriety tests. In the end, one vehicle was impounded at the checkpoint, which was held on westbound San Bruno Avenue at Traeger Avenue.

Police also made two arrests, one for a driver and his passenger in connection to possessing marijuana and the other for a driver in connection to possessing cocaine.
