There isn't that much interesting stuff on the school board's agenda tonight. But the following items might be of interest to folks: 1. a presentation on the district's creation of an irrevocable trust to fund ongoing, longterm pension costs, known as Other Post Employment Benefits, 2. a progress report from Belle Air Elementary Principal Michael Rothhammer about how the school is doing in its fifth year of program improvement.

Can you find out when the progress report is going to be given on Parkside? As a parent who has children in the elementary schools currently, I would like to know what the progress is at Parkside.

Sure. I'll do my best.

Correction: Other Post Employment Benefits applies to health benefits, not pension costs.

Nearly had a heart attack when I saw the packet this week was 1,289 pages! Length is due to safety plans for each campus. Meeting this month is at Parkside. Link to packet: http://sbpsd.k12.ca.us/assets/docs/board-agenda.pdf

School closure probably back as an option with the bad tax/revenue news out of Sacramento. Not sure when they'll have the nerve to talk about it out-loud. May wait till school is out.

Just in - Dr. Hutt has limited our kinder enrollment at Crestmoor to the 19 kids who live in the attendance area. Crestmoor had 30 wanting to come in total. So there are 11 that will not be allowed and 5 of those 11 have an older sibling who attends Crestmoor so now those 5 families will have 2 drop off to do in the morning or he is forcing them to leave Crestmoor..... well this does not make us attractive to incoming families and having 19 kinders does not make it a full class to ever stand on its own. So by doing this he is making sure Crestmoor will not be around in 2013-14 school year. The line is being drawn.
