Today. 1-2 p.m. A Tanforan Summer Mall Camp activity will take place on the lower level by Old Navy. The mall camp activities are for children ages 5-12. The mall camp runs through Aug. 9 and features a new activity or event each week.

Sunday, July 29. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The San Bruno Chamber of Commerce holds its Sunday Farmers' Market at its new location in the parking lot of The Shops at Tanforan, just north of the El Camino Real entrance. Guess the Number of Berries in the Jar.  The Farmers Market runs through November 19th 2012. Enter to win an Apple iPad. Look up Sunday Market Manager Luke who should be near the PCFMA booth on the ECR end of the market and wearing a yellow PCFMA shirt to sign up. 

Tuesday, July 31.  6 a.m - noon  San Mateo County Mosquito & Vector Control District will be using the helicopter to drop pellets into the Mills Filed tule filled ponds in Mills Field.  Flier attached.

Tuesday, July 31. 10 a.m. Century at Tanforan will be screening another $1 summer movie.

Tuesday, July 31.  The Daffy Dave Comedy, Magic, & Juggling Show, 1-2 p.m. The Shops at Tanforan Mall Lower Level outside Old Navy. Watch a comedy, magic, & juggling show the entire family will enjoy.  You might be selected to participate, so be ready.

Tuesday, July 31. Join and attend the S.O.S. (Save Our Schools) committee meeting from 6:30-8 p.m. every Tuesday night during the summer at the Veteran's Memorial Building in the community room. Sunday, Aug 5. Celebrate El Camino Real’s past and future as part of the San Bruno sponsored PCFMA’s Framers’ Market on ECR in front of The Shops at Tanforan. Santrans will have an information booth along with other non-food special booths. Info: 616-7074

Tuesday, Aug 7. Celebrate El Camino Real with a historic car club procession from San Bruno's City Hall to Burlingame’s Washington Park. Info: 616-7074 or http://www.grandboulevard.net The Mid Peninsula Old Time Auto Club will host a historic car procession along El Camino Real on the anniversary of the first paving of the State Highway System at the original groundbreaking site. The festivities begin at the San Bruno City Hall steps at 10am, with a special viewing area for the car procession and keynote speakers from the event partners. A car display and picnic in Washington Park will follow, with BBQ lunch available for purchase.

Tuesday, Aug 7.  Celebrate National Night Out turning on your outside porch light and meet with your neighbors to become better Eyes & Ears in your neighborhood.  Consider starting a Neighborhood Watch block.  The San Bruno Citizens Crime Prevention Committee meets the 2nd Thursday at 7 p.m. in City Hall and always discusses Neighborhood Watch and they will work with you and your neighbors to start your own Neighborhood Watch block.  NNO Proclamation and NHW brochure attached.  Crime Prevention Committee memebr Brandon Lau is shown accepting the NNO Proclamation from Mayor Ruane.

2. August is the busiest month for WNV positives.  The San Mateo County Mosquito & Vector Control District released the attached Press Release reporting a squirrel found in Menlo Park had tested positive for WEST NILE VIRUS (WNV).  Residents that find freshly killed birds or squirrels should call 1-877-WNV-BIRD.  Additional questions will be answered by calling the San Mateo County Mosquito & Vector Control District at 344-8592. The District's June Entomology Report is attached summarizing their activities.  Multiple fliers attached.

3. Greg Pierce is seen in the attached photo reporting to the City Council on his acting as a chaperon to the Parkside students who recently were exchange students with San Bruno's Sister City of Nrita Japan on their visit.  Students also reported on their experiences.

4. Recently the City Council accepted the West Side Ground Water study detailing how San Bruno will attempt to conserve our underground water source and not over draw it.  Their two documents are attached.
