Spicy Friday: Hotel Room Romance

What to do if you're ever the noisy hotel neighbor.

You've managed to find a weekend that you are both free of obligations; so, you plan a get-away.  Before you arrive to your destination you agree to turn off your tech devices.

With anticipation, you open the door, a sense of pleasure overcomes you as you take in the ambiance of the room.  After setting down your overnight bags and taking a quick tour of your surroundings, you both plop into the striped comfy chairs.  Because no definite plans were made, you simultaneously sigh as you relinquish your bodies to the feeling of relaxation.

Before you know it, it's time for dinner, which turns out to be fun and romantic.  After two pre-dinner cocktails and the divine bottle of wine, you walk back to your room.  With no sense of time and a magnificent attitude of spontaneity, you give each other a look which immediately brings a grin to his face.  You enter your room, and the romance begins.

  • try to tone it down after 11 p.m.
  • turn on the television or turn up Marvin Gaye, if available
  • have your feet face toward the common wall
  • use the pull-out sofa if available
  • take it to the tub; however the acoustics could magnify the steamy reverberation
  • pretend you are trying to keep quiet so you don't "get caught"
  • ignore and continue; send a bottle of wine to your neighbor(s) the next day
  • next time, request a corner room with only one adjoining wall
