Free Meal for Low-Income Youth
School’s out and most children are buzzing about the excitement summer brings. But for the 1 in 3 children who rely on school meals in our region, summer can bring long days filled with hunger. Thankfully, they have the support of many community organizations and schools that continue to provide meals to children during the summer. Second harvest food bank has developed lists of the summer meal sites open to youth 18 and under in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Any child can be served a meal at these open sites, no questions asked, whether or not they are registered in the program where the meal site program is located. The summer meal program is for children only, not adults, due to State/Federal requirements. Your help spreading the world about the availability of these free meals for children in need is appreciated! Locally, the following sites are providing meals during the following schedule:
- Belle Air Elementary School: 450 Third Ave, San Bruno 94066-4599. (6/11/12 - 7/6/12) Lunch 11:00 to 12:00 noon.
