Growing Your Clean Energy/Retrofit Business in a Challenging Economy

The Bay Area Clean Energy Careers Program (BayCEC), led by , will present "Growing Your Clean Energy/Retrofit Business in a Challenging Economy" on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Westin Hotel in Millbrae. 

Designed for the clean energy business sector and those interested in promoting the growth of the residential retrofit industry, this free workshop includes panel discussions and networking opportunities with leading industry experts and home performance company leaders.  Attendees will have an opportunity to learn details about Energy Upgrade California from program architects at PG&E, BKi, and StopWaste.org.  In addition, companies can learn about different business models for residential energy efficiency and the challenges of growing a home performance business in the current economic climate.

Skyline College leads BayCEC, an innovative program with an aggressive approach to fulfilling the need for training a new workforce in clean energy.  Skyline College has shown leadership in clean energy with its prior development of solar technology career programs. Skyline is co-hosting this event with Efficiency First, the national trade association for the home performance industry.

The BayCEC Program is funded by a $1.9 million Community Based Job Training Grant, as implemented by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration.  Efficiency First brings the relevant private sector perspective as the event addresses the challenges and opportunities associated with growing a clean energy or residential retrofit business.
