School District Development Advisory Committee

The advisory committee will meet to continue its discussion on whether to change school boundaries for the San Bruno Park School District once sixth graders move to Parkside Intermediate School next year.

At the meeting, the committee—comprised of parents and leaders from each school in the district—will be taking a final vote on a recommendation to make to the school board about the school boundary issue.

The committee was supposed to make the recommendation earlier this month, after debating two options suggested to address school boundaries next year: One option is to change the current school enrollment boundaries but leave the district's transfer policies the same, while the other is to keep everything the same.

After many parents complained that the committee hadn't made clear to each school what the former option was about, the committee delayed its vote and called another meeting to make a final decision.

The school board is then expected to make a decision about whether to change school boundaries or take further action at its December meeting.
