Hip Hop Conference Rocks Skyline for Fifth Year

The fifth annual conference, hosted by the San Bruno community college, will feature workshops and a concert centered around promoting social change through hip hop music.

Skyline College is sure to be rockin' all day today as the school hosts the fifth annual .

The free conference, which begins at 9 a.m., will feature workshops aimed at teaching youth and the wider community about the history and importance of hip hop as art art form and as a tool to promote social change.

Four $500 scholarships, provided with the help of the Skyline College President's Innovation Fund, will also be given out to some lucky seniors who will be attending the college in the fall.

To cap off the day, there will be a concert from 7-9:30 p.m. featuring hip-hop duo Dead Prez ("Police State with Chairman Omali," "It's Bigger Than Hip Hop").
