John Muir Elementary Highlights: Feb. 19-25

Enroll in Mad Science, participate in our school beautification event, and get ready for Parents' Night Out.

The following are highlights from the weekly newsletter of Principal Fran Dunleavy.

Principal's message: "I look forward to seeing everyone at Parents’ Night Out on March 24 at 6 pm. Tickets for this lobster feed and dance are $50. The VIP auction will include a parking spot in the staff lot, Principal for a Day, reserved seats at events, etc. See the PTA flyer for all the details. Please plan on attending School Beautification on Sat. Mar. 3, 9-12. Please come even if you can help for only one hour. There will be donuts!"

Enroll in Mad Science online: NASA Journey to Outer Space will be taking place on Fridays from 3–4 p.m. from March 23–May 25. For more information, visit www.madscience.org/southbay. Kindergarten through sixth grade early-bird registration is due March 20.

Spring pictures: All students will have their pictures taken March 6, and proofs and order forms will be sent after photos are taken.

Expanding Your Horizons: This is a career conference for girls in grades 6–12, which will be at Skyline College on March 17 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Register at skylinecollege.edu/eyh.

STAR testing: State standardized tests will take place from April 30-May 11 for grades 2 through 6. Please do not take vacation during these two weeks.
