Parkside Intermediate Thanks Neighborhood With Spaghetti

A spaghetti feed during the school's Back to School Night last week was meant to show gratitude to the community for enduring the school construction over the summer.

's Back to School Night on Thursday was more than just a chance for parents to meet with their children's teachers.

The school held a spaghetti feed for the entire neighborhood as a sign of gratitude for having to endure all the school construction over the summer.

Principal Angela Addiego cooked the meal—which included spaghetti, salad and garlic bread—while other school and district administrators helped serve the community.

The first phase of is nearing completion. Since the end of the last school year, crews having been working on adding a two-story pre-fabricated building, 28 new classrooms and an open courtyard to the school.

The new classrooms and courtyard are finished, and the two-story building is expected to be finished in November.

The second phase of the project has yet to be funded.
