San Bruno Schools to Benefit From New Health Grant

The San Bruno Park School District is expected to used the funding from the Peninsula Health Care District to develop a health clinic based at Belle Air Elementary.

The will benefit from $4.5 million in new funding from the Peninsula Health Care District, the San Francisco Business Times reported.

The board of directors for the health care district approved funding for two programs, according to the Business Times.

The Healthy Schools initiative supports school nursing positions and other programs to promote healthy living and San Mateo County’s Behavioral Health Psychiatric Residency Program would pay for a full-time psychiatric resident physician for the county.

San Bruno Park schools Superintendent David Hutt said the funding for San Bruno will be used to develop a school-based health clinic at .

"The district is grateful for this opportunity to build better access to quality health care, improve student attendance and develop good health practices," Hutt said in an email.
