School District Hires Temporary Financial Chief

The interim chief business officer will be responsible for maintaining the San Bruno Park School District's fiscal operations until the district finds a permanent replacement for Lynn Orong, who recently resigned from her post.

The has hired a temporary replacement for former Associate Superintendent Lynn Orong, who resigned from her post last week.

Art Schmitt, who is currently the interim chief financial officer for the California School Boards Association based out of Redding, will serve as the district's interim chief business officer and be responsible for maintaining San Bruno Park's fiscal operations.

Orong had been with the district since 2007 and  after accepting a position at Metropolitan Education, which provides career-oriented educational programs to high school students and adults in Santa Clara County.

Schmitt is expected to be paid $118.75 per hour and work seven-hour days out of the district office on Thursdays and Fridays, said Superintendent David Hutt.

In the meantime, the district will be working with professional search firm School Services of California to find a new chief business officer within the next three to four months.
