Capuchino High to Host Summer Basketball Camp

The camp will be led by the high school's new boys basketball coach.

With a new basketball coach at the helm, Capuchino High will be opening its doors next week to high school students who want to brush up on their skills.

A in the school's upper gym, starting on Monday and running through June 22.

The camp will be held on Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays, and include drills in the following areas:

  • Offens and defense fundamentals
  • Ball handling
  • Footwork
  • Shooting form and technique
  • One-on-one moves
  • Creating your own shot

There will also be free throw contests, one-on-one tournaments and team games throughout the camp. Individual improvement drills will be completed each day.

The new boys basketball coach, Pete Torres, is a native of Barcelona, Spain, and is known for his days playing at the University of Hawaii. He has coached high school and college basketball at The Marin School, The Bay School, Northeastern University, Cal State Monterrey Bay and Hartnell College.
