Clean Sweep Draws Out San Bruno Volunteers This Weekend

Approximately 100 San Bruno residents registered for Saturday's Operation Clean Sweep - to paint, pickup trash, spread wood chips, and just general cleanup.

Volunteers started arriving at the Gazebo in City Park before 9:00 a.m. to sign-in, select their task, collect their safety vest, select their tools and then head out to their location for about 2 1/2 hours of cleaning.

They returned to the recreation center around noon for a free hot dog or hamburger and chips and cookies and drink lunch.

The condiment trays were donated by Legacy Produce.  The Lions did the cooking.

The City's Centennial Committee was present displaying and selling their items.

Recology San Bruno - Waste Zero - had their poster on the the new kitchen scraps.

Orders were being taken for planting of Centennial Trees.

Next year Clean Sweep is the First Saturday in May - the 2nd.

If you participated today - THANKS.  If not, plan to participate next year.

When you volunteer next year, bring an additional volunteer.

A few photos are attached.
