Council Update

San Bruno Council Summary – April 22nd Meeting

The Council took the following actions:

  1. Announced the Grand Opening Ceremony for the Newly Constructed Caltrain Station as Saturday May 10th starting at 11:00 a.m. in the new posy Park.

  2. Announced the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life 24 hour event for this Saturday April 26th starting at 10:00 a.m. on the Capuchino High School track.  Enter from Park Blvd. thru the gate opposite Cypress

  3. Announced Operation Clean Sweep (Rain or Shine) Saturday May 3rd – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at City park.  Register at www.sanbruno.ca.gov

  4. Announced 5th Annual Children’s Day/Book Day in City Park Saturday April 26th from 1: - 4:00 p.m.

  5. Announced that the City’s Centennial items are now available for purchase during normal business hours at the City Clerk’s office in City Hall and at the Recreation Center.

  6. Presented a proclamation recognizing the week of April 20th – 26th as West Nile Virus Awareness Week and Mosquito District Robert Riechel reminded residents to Report Dead Birds to 1-877-WNV-BIRD

  7. PRESENTEDE 30-YEAR SERVICE PIN TO Fire Captain Scott Marshall

  8. Presented 30-plus-year Service Award pin to Firefighter and Mechanic Phil Wargo

  9. Received presentation by SFO spokesman on the runway safety upgrade to begin that will close runway 1 & 2 for a couple of months.  GOTO www.flysfo.com/runways to watch a video of the work.

  10. Received update report on the sewer lateral replacement work.

  11. Received report on progress for replacing many of the City’s street lights.
