Senator Jerry Hill Earns Top Marks on Legislative Scorecards
Senator Jerry Hill, D – San Mateo/Santa Clara Counties, has earned top marks from more than half a dozen organizations that tracked voting by elected officials in 2013.
Hill chalked up 100% on the annual legislative scorecards issued by the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network, the California Labor Federation, the California League of Conservation Voters, the Congress of California Seniors, Equality California, the Humane Society and Planned Parenthood.
For his work during his first year in the California Senate, Hill also was honored by the California Health Institute, which named him a Life Science Champion, and by TechAmerica, which recognized Hill as a Tech Champion.

In addition, readers of a popular blog on California politics named Hill one of the state’s most effective legislators. In the “Legislators of the Year” readers poll conducted by “The Nooner,” Hill was selected as one of the five “Most Effective” Senate Democrats.
