Adopt – A – Planter Program

Have you seen the beautiful drought-tolerant flowers in the tree planters lining San Mateo Avenue? This is courtesy of the Adopt – A – Planter program sponsored by the San Bruno Beautification Task Force and the San Bruno Chamber of Commerce.

The Adopt – A – Planter program began in 2011 and focuses on beautifying the planters that line San Mateo Avenue – “The Avenue”. Business owners on The Avenue adopt a planter near their store and pledge to keep it clean and clear of any debris. Business owners are not responsible for watering the plants as there is an internal watering system set-up by the San Bruno Parks Department who also take on the task of planting the flowers.

There are still planters available! Are you a San Mateo Avenue business owner and would like to Adopt – A – Planter near your store front? Please contact BTF Chair and Councilmember Irene O’Connell at (650) 589-9985 or via email ioconnell@ci.sanbruno.ca.us or BTF member Felicia Neirby (650) 583-8536 or via email fneirby@recology.com.
