Patch Give 5: Helping Out at the Food Bank

As an organization, Patch employees donate five business days a year to giving back to the community.

Today's busy reporting and editing schedule will be broken up a little to do something all Patch employees do five days a year in our communities: volunteer.

For a couple of hours this afternoon, I'll be joining my Peninsula Patch colleagues to help out at the warehouse of Second Harvest Food Bank in San Carlos.

I won't know what I'll be doing until I get there. But whatever I'll be doing, I'm prepared to roll up my sleeves and put in a couple of hours of volunteer work for a good cause.

Second Harvest Food Bank is the primary source of donated, surplus and purchased food for non-profit agencies in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. The here is a partner agency of this organization. So it's good to know that the work I'll put in will in some way benefit those who need help in San Bruno.

I'll share my thoughts on the experience in a special report Monday here at San Bruno Patch.
