Relay for Life Brings Out Hope, Celebration and Some Tears

The 24-hour event raised awareness about cancer and raised money to fight all forms of the disease.

San Bruno's Relay for Life was held at Capuchino High Saturday and lasted 24 hours.

Friends and families pitched tents on the football field and walked laps around the track the entire time to honor their loved ones who have been affected by cancer.

Saturday's series of events ended with a survivor's lap at dusk where participants carried glowsticks to honor their friends and family members who died from cancer. The track was lined with luminarias.
