The Capuchino High School graduate will begin classes at U.C Berkeley this Thursday.

Written by Bea Karnes

Claudia Calonje is a 2013 graduate of Capuchino High School. Like most college-bound students, she spent much of her senior year applying for scholarships and grants. She just landed $6,000 to pay for part of her expenses at U.C. Berkeley this year. Just in time—classes start Thursday.

Claudia is First Runner-up in the North Fair Oaks Community Festival Queen of the Festival scholarship competition. She plans a career in Business Management and is already off to a great start. She spent her summer interning at Hewlett Packard in the Converged Cloud Department.

The festival is a fundraising event to benefit of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Youth Programs. It will be held this Sunday, Aug. 25, on Middlefield Road, between 1st and 5th avenues, in Redwood City.
